Happy SEVENTH birthday to Lucas James Walters! We love you so much and had a blast celebrating you today! Thank you God for such a sweet, kind, creative & fun little boy!!

Have you ever felt like you need to clean yourself up before coming to God? I have. I fear he will reject me or shake his head at me #smh bc he is disappointed with me bc I make the same mistakes. God says “come as you are” so why hide? He is the one who transforms us. But we have to come. We have to believe that he will do what he says he will do. We have to recognize that we can’t do this, we can’t clean ourselves up enough to be “worthy.” But that doesn’t mean we hide. Humans have been hiding from God since Adam & Eve. The enemy tells us to hide bc God might reject us or abandon us. But that’s not what God says. God doesn’t put us in spiritual time out. We do that to ourselves. Oh how much time I’ve wasted condemning myself when God says: There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus. Owning our stuff (eg admitting our sin) to God doesn’t result in condemnation. Its called repentance & it results in salvation & sanctification. This is how we become like Jesus. I’ve been spending a lot of time in Romans 8 & the treasures in these 39 verses are unbelievably rich. God did was the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do by sending Jesus to condemn sin & be our righteousness. Even more, in this freedom he also gives us his Spirit so we can live by the Spirit. And as if that’s not amazing enough, the Spirit prays for us. Did you know that? Not only that, Jesus also sits at the right hand of the Father praying for us. So let me get this straight. God doesn’t condemn me, he gives me his Spirit to help me in my weakness. His Spirit & Jesus are both praying for me AND one day I will somehow share in his glory?! This is the gospel!! And what shall we say to this? If GOD is FOR US who can be against us? He who did not spare his own sin but give him up for us (to condemn sin and become our righteousness) how will he not also with him GRACIOUSLY give us all things? WHO shall bring any charge? WHO is to condemn? WHO shall separate us? No one & nothing can ever, EVER, come between us & the love of our gracious Heavenly Father in Christ Jesus our Lord. But wait, there’s more! Go read Romans 8. Lmk what you discover!
