Last month I wrote about going “all in” with God. This month I want to tell you what going “all in” has looked like for us over the last several weeks.
The week of my birthday, two life changing things happened in the Walters household. Brian, my seminary graduate husband, was offered a job in full time ministry as the Director of Adult Ministries at one of our church’s campus locations. Meanwhile, two days before getting the official offer to work at our church, I tested POSITIVE on FIVE different home pregnancy tests. Yes, I am very happy to officially announce that we are expecting our first baby this October — one year after our dream trip to Italy and Paris. Needless to say, these were priceless gifts, perfectly timed as our birthdays are both in February.
I couldn’t exactly divulge all of that info last month when I wrote about my processing the decision to go “all in” with God, but in hindsight I hope this added info makes more sense of the context surrounding those decisions we were making in February. And honestly, my lack of blogging has been due in large part to my not wanting to let all this wonderful news “slip” too soon. Last Thursday I saw my baby’s heart beat and got the all clear from my doctor to go as public as I wanted to with the baby news. Wednesday of this coming week, Brian starts his new job.
So yeah, major life change happening at the Walters home. Life is definitely not going to look the same, entering into full time ministry AND starting a family all in the same year. We still have a great deal to think through together and a seemingly endless list of decisions to make, but I am so relieved knowing that God took us both through a season of really counting the cost of following him and making a very intentional decision to trust him and follow his call on our lives no matter what.
There is no turning back now! Our life is already beginning to look radically different than it did in 2010, and I can’t be more thrilled and excited to experience these new things together with my man. I hope you will continue to join us along the way, as I will be sharing many new and exciting things here on my blog, including a major blog announcement coming soon. God is moving and shaking in pretty much every area of our lives. So fasten your seat belts if you want to join us for the ride, its going to be a wild one!
