I guess you could say alot has happened since my last real post! Lets see…
We had a baby
I quit my job
We moved
I got shingles
We ended 2011
Yep. Thats alot. No wonder I got shingles!
So the long and short of it is this:
On October 12, 2011 we welcomed Lucia Kathryn “LucyKate” Walters into the world at Loudoun Birthing Inn in Lansdowne, VA. She was born at 7:58 pm weighting 7 lbs and 12 oz and measuring 21.5 inches long.
Now she is nearly 3 months old! She is beautiful and wonderful and happy and healthy. We really couldn’t ask for more. She is cooing and smiling and loves to talk! We have our daily “talk time” where I ask her questions and she babbles back at me. I can’t wait until she starts really talking!! We are having so much fun 🙂
Earlier this year, after much prayer and reflection, Brian and I decided to follow God’s leading to have me move out of my full time job as Communications Director at MBC. This was obviously the biggest decision of the year and I will write more about this decision later on as it really is a beautiful testimony of how God led us to this place and confirmed the decision in ways only He can. Many people respond to decisions like this with comment like “thats nice, if you can afford it.” Well, we are here to tell you that anyone who really believes God is calling them to reorder their life in this way, God WILL PROVIDE what you NEED. We have spent alot of time taking a hard look at need vs. want and have spent the year preparing for this major life change. And yes, its is a huge leap of faith… but isn’t that what the Christian life is all about? Leaps of faith? Well, we took one and it all starts now as of today my maternity leave is officially over.
I am returning to work part-time on Tuesday at MBC. I am doing a completely different job and am only working one day a week. I have no idea what it means to only work one day. But as I figure it out I will definitely be sharing it here. I have a feeling 2012 is going to be a very eventful year here on the blog!
Two days after we came home from the hospital with LucyKate I looked at Brian and said “we’ve GOT to find a bigger place!” We were tripping all over everything in our little one bedroom. If I do say so myself, we did a great job at rearranging the place to accommodate our addition! More posts on that to come.
