Living Life Wholeheartedly

I am so excited to be writing on my blog again. Blogging was a regular outlet for me for many years, but after having three babies in three years I lost the time (and brainpower) to keep up with writing things regularly.

In July, my baby turned five and it was as if I could feel the seasons change. We are officially out of the baby stage, out of the crazy survival mode of new motherhood, and for me, officially out of excuses for not writing on my blog. So I thought that my first post back would be a good time to share a little bit about what God has been teaching me and what I hope to offer you here in my little corner of the internet.

My blog began in 2007 as a desire to share my thoughts about God, Marriage, Music, Missions, and, generally, Life as I Know It. I wrote mostly editorial, self-indulgent content that came across more like an online diary than an intentional desire to communicate something specific. I always felt bad about that. I wanted to pick a “niche” and stick to it. I asked friends what they thought I should write about it, I prayed about it, and I kept drawing the same conclusion: write about what God is teaching you.

This is a broad subject matter to be sure, and I am not certain it classifies as a “niche,” but my hope in rebooting my blog is to share the things God is teaching me. Whether it be about a deep spiritual truth from the Bible, why our family chooses to homeschool, what I know about saving money on a trip to Disney World, or how to complete a Whole30 when you have three babies running around your house, my goal with this blog is to share how my husband and I live this life wholeheartedly for Jesus. Hence the new title of my blog: Wholeheartedly.

God has been teaching me about living life Wholeheartedly, no matter what I am doing, whether I eat or drink, to be doing it all for the glory of God. This manifests in many different ways that, Lord willing, I will have the opportunity to share here in the coming days. My purpose in all of this to bring glory to God and help others in their own journey to knowing God.

It’s been two years since I have shared a post here. I have made a lot of excuses and wasted a lot of time. But one thing I know for certain is this: God has given me words and stories to share and now is the time He has called me to be faithful to share wholeheartedly the things that He is teaching me.

Because for me, to live Wholeheartedly is to live authentically, and that means sharing my life with others. It’s my job to be faithful to share what I am learning and it’s His job to give my words wings and carry them onward, wherever He wants them to land.

If you are here for the first time, feel free to poke around a bit. There are about 12 years of blog content here. Be gentle if you read some of those old posts, I have grown a lot over the years! I have attempted to tag a few posts under the headings at the top of the page but I still have much work to do. I am tempted to wait until everything is “just right” before sharing with you, however, if I keep waiting, I’ll never do it.

So now it begins. Look for at least one new post from me each week. And I would love to hear from you! Living life Wholeheartedly is a team effort. We are better together! So please say hello and I hope you’ll stick around to share this leg of the journey with my family me.

Love,

AnnieLaurie

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
