I love that Brian and I both have a heart for missions. You know, when we first started dating he said he would “never go on a foreign mission trip” because we had needs here in our own country. Well, never say never! He has since been on 2, this being his third mission trip.
On the last two he preached and earned the nick name “pastor” by other pastors in the countries where we served. It was because of short term missions that Brian realized his call to ministry. Now he has just completed his first year of seminary at Liberty University and we pray every day for God to open a door for him to work full time in some ministry capacity.
I believe God is preparing us for that next step. I believe this trip will have a major impact on our future. I am excited to see what God does! Even if we don’t see God doing something right away, we both believe and trust in Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
We also believe that, we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works that God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10)
And guess what, these promises are true for all who believe in the Lord Jesus. God has a plan for all of us, all we have to do is follow the shepherd home.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
Where is the shepherd leading you?
