Today we celebrate LucyKate’s second birthday. I wanted to write a heartfelt and meaningful post in honor of her special day. But I just can’t. I have tried all day and the words fall short.

So I will simply say this: Lucia Kathryn, being your mom is the best thing. I am infinitely grateful that God chose your dad and me to be your parents. You are spunky, fun, fearless and fiercely independent. I cannot wait to see the wonderful things God has prepared in advance for you to do. I am certain that it is exceedingly and abundantly more than I could ask or imagine.
